DRIVING A METAPHOR
With your birth comes a car. It’s new and yours.
You’re too young to drive but you can play with it.
As you grow your parents tell you how to handle.
With adolescence comes the power to use.
As the owner-driver you can go almost anywhere.
Regular maintenance helps.
So does careful driving and good passenger choice..
The vehicle ages but can’t be replaced. It’s the only one you’ll ever have.
Parts fail. The body get’s rusty and worn.
In your mind you’re still a competent driver but the car wont respond.
Eventually it gives up.
To keep going you’ll have to find the latest model.
And be re-born.
